The title of today’s recap is appropriate because almost everything that happened today was fueled solely by Lily’s jealousy over Meg’s relationship with Damian.
Lily and Holden were hanging out at the farm when what should come up, but the topic of Meg and her cruise. A clueless Lily was taken aback by the news that Meg and Damian would be going on this cruise together. Lily overreacted about it and Holden was irritated and asked her yet again why it mattered to her.
Luke and Noah were also arguing over the trip since Luke is set to go for business purposes. Noah was upset because Luke was canceling plans with Holden to go to Kentucky in order to go on the cruise with Damian. Luke defended his right to get to know his real dad. Enter Mason, who asked if he had interrupted anything. Luke took that as his cue and left. Mason and Noah bonded over Noah’s anger at Luke.
Lily talked Emma into not watching Eliza so that Meg would have no choice but to stay home from the cruise. I was surprised Emma went along with it, actually. The ruse worked, but Meg was onto Lily like white on rice. Meg called Damian and told him she couldn’t go. Luke came over and broke the news to Holden that he couldn’t go on the trip with him for work reasons. Holden was okay with it, albeit a little disappointed. Lily used it to her advantage, somehow making it impossible for Luke to go on the trip as well. Damian canceled the whole trip and made a bee line for Lily to confront her for her obvious actions. Lily denied all, but when Damian called her out on her feelings, and pulled her into a steamy ass kiss, she did not deny that!
Barbara came to Paul’s with some men in the white coats to have him committed because she just cannot stand the fact that he wants to be with Emily. Have I mentioned lately how much that pleases me? Paul put up a semi-fight with Barbara who threatened him with a straight jacket. Paul was carted off to the mental hospital and Emily came to find the house empty. Barbara showed and revealed her evil plan. Emily promptly ran to the hospital and broke Paul out. She hid him in James Stenbeck’s old secret lair. Paul read a diary left by James while Emily lied about Paul’s whereabouts to Barbara upstairs.
Luke went to find Noah and found him where he had left him, with Mason. Noah encouraged Luke to go on the trip with Holden. Noah said he wanted to, but he was scared that he had hurt Holden’s feelings. Meanwhile, Emma and Meg were filling Holden in on what Lily had been up to all night. Holden is obviously going to fall off of a horse or something soon, I can feel it. I don’t like it. But we have been here before!
