411 on Soaps

The recent explosion of casting shake ups at OLTL are upsetting. However, our intention is not to dissuade you from watching OLTL. If we stop watching OLTL, the show might be canceled and another soap opera knocked off the daytime roster. This is not the first time beloved characters have been axed (Marlena and John, Days) and fans, including myself, have been in an uproar, and it won’t be the last. So please, keep watching OLTL, and keep daytime going.

TV Guide Magazine is reporting that Brett Claywell and Scott Evans have been fired from OLTL and will be gone by April.

Spoiler Alert! On the March 29 episode, Fish will learn for certain what viewers have known for quite a while—he’s the biological father of baby Sierra Rose, via his drunken one-nighter with psychotic stripper Stacy Morasco (Crystal Hunt). With Stacy now dead, there are rumblings of a custody battle with Stacy’s sister Gigi (Farah Fath) but, ultimately, the law is on Fish’s side and the two dads will blissfully start a new life with the baby.

A show rep says the characters will not actually leave Llanview and, because Fish is a cop, he may pop up in a crime-related capacity down the line—but no promises are being made.

Daytime Confidential is reporting that Scott Clifton (Schuyler Joplin, OLTL) has taped his last scenes and has been let go. This is not surprising considering the Morasco Fiasco has finally hit its climax.

This week on OLTL, Gigi and Schuyler wage war against one another for custody of Sierra Rose. Clint and Kim are going to join in the battle after they tie the knot, if Kim will sign the prenup. All the while, the other baby daddy, Fish, is keeping mum about his potential role as sperm donor. Kyle isn’t happy with the way Fish is handling this situation and told him so on today’s episode. OLTL fans are crucifying Schuyler for not stepping up for the baby, but I hear very little bitching about Fish. Fish is a good guy, and the guilt is obviously eating away at him. Fish needs to man up and at least get a paternity test to see if he is the father. We know Gigi and Rex would take good care of Sierra Rose, but I think we all want to see Kyle and Fish take the journey as parents together. It would make for a great story! Daytime Confidential is reporting that as of March 6 at midnight, 3.1 million customers in the New York area are without ABC TV just hours away from the broadcast of the Oscars. Cablevision and ABC are at a war of sorts, with no resolution in sight.

News broke today that Eden Riegel is replacing Vail Bloom on Y&R. Amanda Setton stopped taping scenes as OLTL’s Kim on February 19. No one wants to see Kim go, but how about in the form of Vail? Would you be town for a Kim re-cast? Leave your comments below. Thanks!

When Ethan Lovett first came to Port Charles, we weren’t even sure if the actor was really Australian. In fact, some fans rejected Ethan from the start. The same could be said for his brother Lucky, who seemed to hate him on sight. Over time, Ethan has managed to form bonds with Lucky and the rest of the Spencer clan and melt our hearts at the same time. Nathan Parsons is not only easy on the eyes, but incredibly enjoyable to watch. It helps that his character brings a lightness to GH that is sometimes necessary. Did we mention he is HOT?
