Rumors are swirling that Melrose Place will not be picked up by the CW and negotiations with One Tree Hill are rocky. The good news? Soapnet is ready to scoop up the primetime sudser if the CW doesn’t.
Per Spoiler TV:
Retweet this postOne Tree Hill: There are some messy contracts and negotiations and it could go either way but even if renewed it will likely have budget cuts and maybe lose more cast members and producers. SOAPnet has the option of renewing it if the CW were to cancel it.

It is this blogger’s opinion that Being Erica is a cute little show, even if the premise takes an episode or two to understand. All in all, it’s worth the watch. Season two of Being Erica starts January 20, 2010 at 10 p.m. on Soapnet.

If you visit the 411 every so often, you know we are big fans of the ABC comedy Cougar Town. Besides the always funny Courtney Cox, we are also privy to the extreme humor of GH’s Carolyn Hennesy (Diane), not to mention the uber hotness of Josh Hopkins. If you have not had the opportunity to tune into this hilarious show, we highly recommend that you do so. You can every episode ever made on Saturday, November 14 when Soapnet airs a mini-marathon for our viewing pleasure. Don’t miss it!
Retweet this postLet Us Remember: Knots Landing
by Gigi on Oct.06, 2009, under Prime Time Drama

There have been prime time dramas over the years that were full of the soapy things that reel us in (drama, sex, lies), such as Falcon Crest, Dallas, and sadly even Beverly Hills 90210. Unfortunately, there were some I missed as a child which left me feeling like I was missing a significant piece of history. That changed when Soapnet began to air some of these shows, especially Dallas and Knots Landing. My personal favorite was Knots Landing. Abby was my favorite, the queen bitch of the show. Then there was Val, the innocent but insane lady on the block, and Abby’s worst enemy. I loved the set up the show as well. Knots Landing was cul-de-sac that almost all of the characters on the show lived on. Talk about nosy neighbors. So this is my shout out to Soapnet: Please dump the reality shows and get back the real soaps and bring back Knots Landing! Thanks!
Retweet this postWhat We Will NOT Be Watching on Soapnet!
by Gigi on Oct.03, 2009, under Random Soap Scoop
Recently it has became quite evident that the future of soap operas is shaky at best. There are several reasons for that, so many we won’t get into all that here. However, it is interesting that reality television seems to have played a part in the problem. Therefore, we will not be watching the new and rather pointless Bank of Mom and Dad that just started on airing on Soapnet last week. We didn’t watch the premiere. We won’t watch the finale. It’s reality shows such as this, although entertaining to some, that caused the shift in television and how people choose to spend their tv viewing time. We are kind of mad at Soapnet for airing it in the first place, but we think we will get over it.
